Craig Peddle grew up in Toronto, specifically in the Scarborough neighbourhood of Malvern, and has worked as a police officer in the community of Jane and Finch, Malvern, Detective Services, Street Crime, the Gun and Gang Task Force, Community Response Unit, Youth Services, Community Policing Support Unit, Intelligence Services, Investigative Support in Professional Standards as an Investigator and Surveillance Officer, a ‘Wire-Tap” investigator/manager, and has assisted with homicide investigations during lateral assignments, including gang cases.
Craig has been actively studying and investigating gang culture, gangs and gang members since 1996. He was the first gang co-ordinator for the Toronto Police Service and has authored and assisted with implementing strategic, tactical, operational and community plans as they relate to criminal street gangs municipally, provincially and federally with the Solicitor General of Canada.

He is a certified Advanced Trainer/Instructor (TPS) and has developed and instructed lesson plans, courses, or seminars for the Toronto Police College, Ontario Police College (OPC), the New York State Police Academy, Ontario Gang Investigators Association (ONGIA), Middle Atlantic Great Lakes Organized Crime Law Enforcement Network (MAGLOCLEN), Criminal Intelligence Services Canada (CISC), Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario (CISO), Ministry of the Attorney General Canada (MAG), Ontario Association Of Chiefs of Police (OACP)

His qualifications include certification as a Surveillance Officer by the Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario (CISO) and is trained, certified, designated and has operated as an under- cover agent under the authority of Bill C-24 (Lawful Justification, 25.1 cc).

He has attended gang investigators’ conferences and courses throughout North America. Craig has extensively instructed crown attorneys, judges, police organizations, community groups, young people, city officials and intelligence agencies in the discipline of Street Gangs. He has presented and instructed many gang modules at investigative seminars for the government of Canada and has lectured in the United States, including investigators at the New York State Police Academy.

Craig is the co-founder of the TPS Gun and Gang Task Force and is the co-founder and first past president of the Ontario Gang Investigators Association, which is the first international network of gang investigators accepted into the National Alliance of Gang Investigators Associations. He has also been qualified to provide expert evidence for court matters in the province of Ontario.

He is currently finishing tenure as the Corporate Media Officer with the Owen Sound Police Service and his role as the school resource/community officer in one of the oldest police agencies in Canada.
